The Braves are signing Robert Suarez to a three-year, $45 million deal, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan. The three biggest relievers are now off the board, with Suarez joining a Braves team that already re-signed Raisel Iglesias to a one-year, $16 million deal. Suarez presumably will close over Iglesias, who has performed very well as a setup man in the past. This also probably means that it's now safe to look at Devin Williams as a top-10 RP, since there's no one else the Mets could sign to rival him. The Jays were also thought to be in the mix for Suarez, so this makes Jeff Hoffman a little safer, too. Suarez, who turns 35 in March, led the NL with 40 saves while posting a 2.97 ERA for the Padres last season. He also had 36 saves and a 2,77 ERA in 2024.
The Mets are showing interest in re-signing Tyler Rogers, according to The New York Post's Jon Heyman.Edwin Diaz is gone, but Rogers in the eighth and Devin Williams in the ninth would still give the Mets an exceptional late-game duo. Rogers, a free agent for the first time, is almost certain to land the first multiyear deal of his career at age 35.
