Munoz gave up six hits, walked two and struck out three. He was hit hard as three of the six hits he allowed left the yard. Munoz gave up a solo shot to Anthony Santander in the first inning, a three-run home run to Colton Cowser in the third inning and a solo home run to Connor Norby in the fourth inning. It's the third time in his last seven appearances that Munoz has allowed at least three home runs. He has a 5.61 ERA on the year. The 24-year-old right-hander is set to face the Rays on the road next week.
Santander's home run was his 28th of the year. Only Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani have more home runs this year. He hit a solo shot off Roddery Munoz in the first inning. Santander is hitting .245 with an .831 OPS and 67 RBI on the season.
Before Anthony Santander homered off David Robertson in the eighth, he hit balls 393 and 371 feet off Heaney. Both of those turned into outs, however, even though the latter was meant to be a homer in 15 ballparks. Heaney earned his third win in 19 starts this year and fourth overall. He has a 2.60 ERA since picking up the first of those on May 28. Before that, he was 0-6 with a 4.69 ERA.
It's shaping up a quite the walk year for Santander, who just made his first All-Star team. He's up to 26 homers, which is seven off his career high from 2022. His .826 OPS is 60 points better than his career mark and would be his career high, unless someone wants to count his .890 OPS from 37 games in 2020.
Santander went 3-for-5 with two home runs and five RBI in Friday's win over Texas.
