Brown was terrible to start the season and was demoted to Triple-A in the middle of June. However, in nine games since coming back to the big leagues, he's gone 7-for-28 (.250) with three home runs, six runs, and five RBI. While that's not elite production, he has proven himself to be a solid 20+ home run hitter and if he continues to get his strikeout rate in order, as he has since being recalled, he could be a solid deep league option.
Brown went 3-for-5 with two home runs, three RBI and three runs Sunday against the Phillies.
Brown was sent to the minors on June 18th after starting the year by hitting .189/.251/.306 triple-with five homers and four steals across 195 plate appearances. He went ahead and crushed Triple-A pitching to the tune of a .403/.416/.736 slash line with seven home runs and 24 RBI in just 16 games. In four games since being recalled he is now 5-for-13 with those two home runs and four RBI. He has posted multiple 20-home run seasons in his career, so he could get hot and help this Oakland lineup down the stretch, but the low batting average will likely make him harder to roster in fantasy leagues.

The club already had three vacancies on their 40-man thanks to recently outrighting Aaron Brooks as well as releasing Aledmys D az and Sean Newcomb, so the count now…
Brown finds himself back in Oakland with former top prospect Tyler Soderstrom landing on the injured list with a wrist bone bruise. The 31-year-old was shipped to the minors last month after compiling a disastrous .189/.251/.306 triple-slash line with five homers and four steals across 195 plate appearances.
