Ryan McMahon homered and collected five RBIs, plus Charlie Blackmon hit a two-run jack to lift the Rockies to an 11-10 win over Mets
Ryan McMahon launches a two-run home run to left-center field expanding the Rockies' lead to 11-6 in the bottom of the 5th inning
It turned into a typical Coors Field slugfest with the Mets rallying from a 6-0 deficit and briefly taking the lead but Ryan McMahon's two-run homer in the seventh helped the Rockies to a 10-7 win. Justin Verlander started and was hit hard, surrendering six earned runs over five innings, but Pete Alonso's 20th HR and Francisco Alvarez's dramatic three-run blast helped get the Mets even at 6-6. A Starling Marte RBI single gave New York a brief lead but the bullpen faltered in the seventh and eighth innings, allowing Colorado to prevail.
