The ScoreYankees' Boone ejected for 5th time this season

Aaron Boone is running out of patience. With his New York Yankees trailing the Tampa Bay Rays 5-0, the always fiery manager voiced his displeasure over a questionable strike three call on struggling outfielder Alex Verdugo - and got himself ejected. The Yankees entered Sunday's contest against Tampa Bay with a 5-9 record in July, with several key contributors - including Verdugo - mired in slumps. Despite the rough stretch, the Yankees remain squarely in the AL East division race and firmly in control of the first AL wild-card spot. Copyright © 2024 Score Media Ventures Inc. The ScoreReport: Yankees, Mariners among teams eyeing Marlins' Chisholm

The New York Yankees and Seattle Mariners are among the clubs considering trading for Miami Marlins outfielder Jazz Chisholm Jr., according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post."The New York fans would love him, he loves to interact with the crowd," a former member of the Marlins organization told Heyman. "Just your classic super-talented kid who needs a little structure as he can wander off at times."The Marlins are reportedly open to trading Chisholm, who's under club control for an additional two campaigns beyond 2024. Miami owns the second-worst record in baseball after making the playoffs last season.New York's current outfield includes Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, Alex Verdugo, and Trent Grisham. But Chisholm, 26, has also made 155 starts at second base during his five-year career.Meanwhile, Seattle's outfield is comprised of Julio Rodr guez, Luke Raley, Mitch Haniger, and Victor Robles.Chisholm has 12 homers, 42 RBIs, 18 stolen bases, and a .727 OPS over 93 games this season. He was a 2022 All-Star but has struggled to stay healthy, logging a combined 281 contests between 2021-23.Copyright © 2024 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. CBS SportsOrioles walk off Yankees to avoid sweep after wild comeback, head to All-Star break with slim lead in AL East

NBC SportsClay Holmes blew the save and took the loss in stunning fashion Sunday against the Orioles.

Who else is dizzy right now? After entering the bottom of the ninth with a 5-3 lead, Holmes allowed a leadoff single to Kyle Stowers and would go on to load the bases with walks to Ryan O'Hearn and Adley Rutschman before an error from Anthony Volpe allowed a run to score. Cedric Mullins then poked a ball to left field, which landed over the head of Alex Verdugo after he stumbled. Given the stakes, it's hard to think of a more demoralizing loss. The Yankees will have a few days to dwell on the lost opportunity during the All-Star break. This wasn't all Holmes' fault, but he's not exactly in the circle of trust right now.
