Schanuel (calf) is starting at first base and batting second in Monday's series opener against the Mariners, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
It was borderline, but it looked like a strike from here. Schanuel was back in the starting lineup tonight after leaving with calf tightness Saturday and coming off the bench Sunday. He was 0-for-4 with two strikeouts tonight.
Schanuel (calf) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics but expects to be available as a pinch hitter, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
The 22-year-old first baseman was replaced by Brandon Drury. He'll head for further evaluation to determine the severity of the injury. Expect the Angels to provide another update on his status either after Saturday's game or prior to Sunday's series finale against the A's.
