Emmet Sheehan

Bauers worked Emmet Sheehan for a two-out walk in the opening inning of this one, but he was left stranded there. He reached on another walk in the third inning and was the back end of a double steal with Luis Rengifo. Bauers then victimized River Ryan in the fifth inning, blasting a 390-foot (105.0 mph EV) solo shot that gave the Brewers a 2-1 lead. He has been having a terrific spring at the plate, slashing .529/.667/1.176 with three homers, nine RBI and three stolen bases in seven Cactus League contests. Don't be surprised if he sees regular at-bats against right-handed pitching to start the season.

The 26-year-old right-hander struck out two batters in the ballgame. It took him 49 pitches to record seven outs in this one and he only threw 26 of those offerings for strikes. The lone tally against him came on an RBI single by Greg Jones in the second inning. Sheehan got six whiffs in the ballgame -- three of them on his slider -- while posting an underwhelming CSW of 22 percent. He's still likely to open the season in the Dodgers' rotation, but he's going to have to be better than what we have seen in Cactus League play to hold that job once the Dodgers' start to get reinforcements to their rotation.
