Brandon Nimmo went 1-for-2 with an RBI triple as the Rangers triumphed over the Padres 4-1 in Monday's Cactus League tilt.Nimmo smacked a Randy Vasquez offering for an RBI triple in the second inning, increasing the Rangers' early advantage to 2-0. That would be all of the offense that they would need in the ballgame. The 32-year-old outfielder also drew a walk, reaching base safely in two of his three plate appearances. He looks to be locked into the leadoff spot in the Rangers' lineup to open the season, which should lead to ample opportunities to score runs for fantasy managers.

Randy Vasquez shut out the Dodgers for two innings in his spring debut Sunday.Vasquez is apparently taking the threats to his rotation spot seriously, as he showed up with some serious juice today; his fastball averaged 96.6 mph, up from 93.5 mph last season. Even his changeup touched 90 mph. Vasquez was effective for the Padres last season in spite of a 13.7% strikeout rate. If his stuff is going to be this much better now than it was then, not only is his rotation spot safe, but he might be interesting in fantasy leagues for the first time.
