NBC SportsMLB.com's Christina De Nicola reports that "As of now, the Marlins don't plan to give catcher Agustin Ramirez" reps at first base.

This would seem to be a bit short-sighted since Ramirez has a quality bat and was one of the worst defensive catchers in baseball during his rookie season. He posted a -12 Fielding Runs Value on Statcast and was 63rd out of 63 catchers in Statcast's Caught Stealing Above Average after throwing out only eight of 76 possible baserunners. De Nicola reports that the Marlins are now considering Eric Wagaman, Heriberto Hernandez, or Connor Norby as internal options at first base.

NBC SportsMarlins manager Clayton McCullough said Tuesday in an interview that Connor Norby will compete for the third base job in spring training.

McCullough added that Norby will also spend some time in the outfield next spring but the goal remains for him to win the starting job at the hot corner. The 25-year-old was limited to just 88 games this past season, hitting .251/.300/.389 with eight homers and eight steals in 337 plate appearances. He offers realistic 20-homer and double-digit stolen base upside in an everyday role, which would give him some relevance in deeper fantasy formats.
