Andrew Painter didn't have his best stuff in his second spring start, but three scoreless innings revealed the competitor inside the 22-year-old.

Painter got only three whiffs on 16 swings today, but just two of the nine balls in play against him were hard hit. He's up to five scoreless innings this spring, and unless he loses the strike zone over the rest of the month, he seems likely to open up at the back of the Philadelphia rotation.
