The hard-hitting 24-year-old backstop likely would have been in the lineup, but he experienced a flight delay when traveling to Oakland and wasn't going to arrive until just before game time. He will be active and in uniform, he just won't be starting on Friday.

O'Hoppe is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Athletics.

O'Hoppe went 3-for-4 with two solo home runs in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Rangers.

Both homers were solo shots, since O'Hoppe was batting sixth behind fourth- and fifth-place hitters who combined to go 0-for-8. Why is O'Hoppe batting sixth? It's because he's young, apparently. He has an .825 OPS, which is 87 points higher than the mark of the second most productive hitter in the Angels lineup tonight, Taylor Ward (to be fair, it was only 53 points higher at the beginning of the night).
