NBC SportsMiles Mikolas allowed two runs on seven hits in six innings in a win over the Braves on Sunday.

He struck out three and walked one, but did allow nine hard-hit baseballs and an average exit velocity of 91.6 mph. It certainly wasn't a dominant outing with a 24 percent whiff rate and 22 percent CSW, but he got the job done and dropped his ERA to 5.02 on the season. He is a solid deep-league streamer against the Nationals next week.

NBC SportsChristopher Morel went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in an 8-3 win over the Cardinals on Sunday.

Morel took Miles Mikolas deep in the sixth inning and then Andrew Kittredge yard in the eighth. He now has 18 RBI and 50 RBI on the season, which has allowed him to remain fantasy-relevant despite having a .202/.303/.387 slash line. Morel is a below-average defender and will likely never hit for a high batting average, so there remains the risk that the Cubs will eventually see him as a part-time player; however, his immense power and speed upside will always intrigue fantasy managers if you can withstand his poor average.

NBC SportsMiles Mikolas allowed six runs on eight hits in 5 1/3 innings in a loss to the Cubs on Sunday.

The 35-year-old allowed six extra-base hits and four home runs on the day. He now has a 5.13 ERA heading into the All-Star break and should not be started next week against the Braves on Saturday. He could also be in danger of losing his rotation spot if the Cardinals decide to pursue starting pitching at the deadline.

NBC SportsMiles Mikolas hurled 6 1/3 scoreless innings on Monday against the Nationals.

Mikolas carried a shutout into the seventh inning before being lifted at 93 pitches (66 strikes) following a one-out single by former teammate Juan Yepez. He finished with three strikeouts, didn't hand out a free pass, and allowed only six hits in this one. The 35-year-old veteran righty has allowed just two runs over 12 1/3 innings over his last two starts following a 10-run (nine earned) implosion back on June 27 against the division-rival Reds. He'll square off against the Cubs on Saturday at Busch Stadium in his final outing prior to the Midsummer Classic.
