Lorenzen gave up six hits, walked two and struck out eight. Tommy Pham hit a solo home run off Lorenzen in the first inning and Brooks Baldwin drove in Andrew Vaughn with an RBI single in the fourth inning. He's completed exactly five innings in each of his last five starts. Lorenzen has been consistent in that regard, though the eight strikeouts were a season-high. He has a 3.53 ERA on the season. The 32-year-old right-hander is set to face the Blue Jays on the road this weekend.
They're trying something new after totaling 12 runs during their current seven-game losing streak. It's just the second time this season that Robert has hit leadoff. This means he'll have fewer runners to drive in, but it's not like he had many anyway and he was doing little when he had the opportunity; he's collected only 23 RBI despite having hit 11 homers in 46 games.
Vaughn was on a nice roll before this, and he's hardly the only White Sox hitter struggling even more than usual at the moment; the team has scored a total of eight runs during this six-game losing skid. He remains an option in deeper mixed leagues, but he'll probably be a weaker one in 10 days, after the White Sox trade off at least Tommy Pham and maybe Luis Robert Jr. from their already impotent lineup.
