Michael Busch and Seiya Suzuki both struck out while up as the tying runs in the ninth. Sewald has converted three saves and pitched four scoreless innings since a horrible week at the beginning of the month in which he gave up seven runs and took three blown saves.
Suarez gave up six hits, walked two and struck out four. He had won his last two starts. The start got away from Suarez in the fourth inning when he allowed four straight hits with one out, including a two-run double to Michael Busch and an RBI double to Seiya Suzuki. Suarez has a 3.40 ERA over his last nine starts since moving into the Orioles' rotation. His 2.82 ERA on the year isn't indicative of his skill level as he has a 4.68 xFIP this year. Suarez is difficult to recommend outside of AL-Only leagues.
Busch had a two-run double in the fifth inning to give the Cubs a 3-0 lead. Busch is hitting .278 with an .853 OPS and 36 RBI this season. He should continue to see regular playing time against right-handed pitching with Cody Bellinger on the injured list.
