NBC SportsJustin Steele was charged with two runs over 5 1/3 innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Brewers.

Steele gave up six hits, including run-scoring singles to Jackson Chourio and Brice Turang in the first and sixth innings, respectively. He finished with four strikeouts and also handed out three free passes. It wasn't a dominant performance, but it was a much-needed bounce-back outing after getting lit up for five runs over 4 2/3 innings last Friday in his second-half debut against the Diamondbacks. He'll bring a stellar 3.08 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 91/23 K/BB ratio across 96 1/3 innings (16 starts) into a road tilt on Tuesday against the Reds.

NBC SportsBrice Turang went 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI in Tuesday's win over the Cubs.

Turang gave the Brewers their first and only run of the night in the eighth inning when he singled off Julian Merryweather to drive home Jake Bauers. Turang's RBI single proved to be enough for the Brewers to walk away with the win, as starter Colin Rea and the bullpen held the Cubs to seven hits and no runs on the evening. Turang is now sitting on 42 RBI on the season but is slashing a woeful .156/.217/.188 in the month of July.

NBC SportsElly De La Cruz went 1-for-4 with a stolen base on Friday against the Nationals.

The Reds' offense was asleep for eight innings in this one before coming alive for four runs in the ninth inning to make the Nationals sweat. It's still spectacular to see how high De La Cruz's steal total can climb, as he's now stolen 17 more bags than Brice Turang who is second in the league.

NBC SportsJake Cronenworth hit his 13th homer Tuesday in a losing cause against the Mariners.

We wonder how Cronenworth feels about the Padres essentially taking him out of the mix for an All-Star nod by listing him at first base and Luis Arraez at second base on the ballot. Arraez went on to make the team at the much weaker position, and Cronenworth is staying home despite being the better hitter of the two this year and easily the more valuable defender. That's not to say Cronenworth necessarily would have made the team at second -- Brice Turang probably had the better argument behind starter Ketel Marte -- but he certainly wasn't going to as a first baseman.
