NBC SportsJo Adell singled in the go-ahead run in the ninth as the Angels bested the Mariners 3-1 on Monday.

Adell delivered a hard-single up the middle with two outs in the ninth, plating Brandon Drury. Julio Rodriguez might well have thrown Drury out had he been manning center field, but Victor Robles made a mediocre throw up the third-base line and Cal Raleigh failed to hold on to the ball, not only allowing Drury to score but also permitting Zach Neto to race around for an insurance run. Adell also walked tonight. He's hit in seven straight to improve to .199/.270/.399 for the season. We wouldn't call that good, but it's quite a bit better than what Mickey Moniak is doing, which could be big with Mike Trout set to return this weekend. It also might be moot by next week, since a Taylor Ward trade would keep both Adell and Moniak playing fairly regularly.

NBC SportsTyler Anderson gave up four runs in six innings Friday in a no-decision versus the Mariners

Anderson gave up all four runs on homers. The first was a two-run bomb from Julio Rodriguez in the first inning, the second to the red-hot Cal Raleigh in the third. The southpaw didn't issue a walk and struck out four against his former team, but did see his ERA jump a smidgen to 2.97. Anderson will next get a chance to pitch in the All-Star game Tuesday.

NBC SportsCal Raleigh homered in an extra-inning loss for the Mariners to the Angels on Friday.

Raleigh also singled and drew an intentional walk. The homer was a two-run blast to give Seattle a 4-2 lead, and it also gave the switch-hitting backstop his 20th homer; the first time a Mariner catcher has hit that many home runs before the All-Star break. Raleigh was not a consistent threat in May or June, but he's been spectacular in July and should be a strong fantasy option for the remainder of 2024.

NBC SportsJulio Rodriguez reached all four times up Thursday, going 3-for-3 with a double and a walk before exiting the rout of the Angels.

It's all or nothing for Rodriguez, apparently. His last three games have seen him go 4-for-4 with a homer, 0-for-4 with four strikeouts and now 3-for-3 with a walk. Despite being so productive, he actually went without a run scored or an RBI in the 11-0 game tonight. Blame Cal Raleigh for homering twice in front of him, depriving him of much of a chance to drive in runs.

NBC SportsCal Raleigh went 3-for-5 and homered from both sides of the plate as the Mariners crushed the Angels 11-0 on Thursday.

Raleigh's homers left the bat at 113.9 and 113.8 mph. It's his second two-homer game in three days, and it put him up to 19 homers for the year. His overall .215/.299/.432 line is less impressive, but, really, it hardly seems fair that he's going to miss out on the All-Star Game again this year. It's a little odd that MLB has decided All-Star teams need four shortstops and four first basemen but only two catchers.
