Isbel had two soft infield singles before connecting on a 401-foot shot off Simeon Woods Richardson in his third at-bat. He's now 7-for-24 this season. Isbel is pretty well locked in as the Royals' center fielder against righties, but a nice start offensively here would earn him more at-bats versus lefties.
Emmanuel Clase suffered a blown save in the ninth inning of this one and Hunter Gaddis, Tim Herrin and Cade Smith had each been used already, so it was Sewald who was tasked with protecting a three-run lead in the home half of the 10th. He looked awfully impressive, getting Kyle Isbel on strikes, Jonathan India on a fly ball to center and Bobby Witt Jr. on a fly out to right to end it. He's got plenty of closing experience and could wind up being the next man up should injury or ineffectiveness befall Clase.
