The ScoreDodgers' Rojas irked by Marlins' Chisholm calling him a 'bad person'

Miguel Rojas is bothered by public accusations from former teammate and Marlins outfielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. that the now Los Angeles Dodgers infielder and other veterans playing for Miami treated him poorly in the clubhouse during their time together."Everybody is entitled to have their own opinion of you as a player, as a teammate, (or) as a leader," Rojas said on "The Chris Rose Rotation" podcast Tuesday. "Whatever you want to say about me as a player and the Miguel Rojas that wear the uniform (with the Marlins) or trying to be a leader in the clubhouse. You can have that opinion."But you saying that I'm a bad person when you don't even know me. You don't even know where I come from. You're (not) even part of what's close to me or have the opportunity to sit down with me and (get) to know me as a person. That's kinda what bothers me."Chisholm didn't name Rojas but said the team captain - the position Rojas held when they were teammates from 2020-22 - tried to "get me out of here" and that "they're not a good person.""I'm not expecting everybody to like me, and I don't like everybody," Rojas responded. "But that doesn't mean I can go out there and tell everybody what's happening in the clubhouse. That's one of the things that really bothers me."Chisholm confirmed a veteran-led meeting in June 2022 targeted him for how he dressed going to the ballpark and when the team traveled. However, Rojas said young players need to understand that veterans enforce ground rules established by the club."When you're coming to a place, there are rules in place, and somebody is going to keep you accountable. ... The organization (has) some rules there that people have to follow. ... Nobody was there policing the fun or not letting anybody celebrate," Rojas said.Chisholm added that he was subjected to hazing by veterans but didn't mention Rojas.Copyright © 2024 Score Media Ventures Inc.
