Yankees placed RHP Clarke Schmidt on the 60-day injured list following internal brace surgery.Schmidt might return down the stretch after undergoing surgery late last July, though it might be late enough that he's only considered as a reliever. The 29-year-old had a nice 3.32 ERA in 14 starts before getting hurt last season.
