Chicago White Sox manager Pedro Grifol offered a dreary assessment of his team's start to the 2024 campaign following Monday's 7-0 loss to the Minnesota Twins."We can't deny what's happening. Our record sucks," Grifol said, according to MLB.com's Scott Merkin. "But what are you going to do about it? We have to come tomorrow and get ready to play. You have to forget about today. Learn and move on."The White Sox are off to a 3-19 start, good for an MLB-low .136 winning percentage. They've been shut out eight times already, the most in the first 22 games of a season since 1901. They're on pace to dethrone the 1962 New York Mets as the worst team of all time thanks to a feeble offense that is hitting .190 and has scored a league-worst 45 runs.Grifol is doing everything he can to keep his group positive and mentally prepared to compete despite the lackluster start to the campaign."Today we got our ass kicked. You go home and you reflect, and tomorrow is a new day. You can only learn from today and then tomorrow you start the day and that's it. This day is over," the manager said.
