The Washington Nationals and outfielder/designated hitter Franmil Reyes agreed to a minor-league contract, the team announced.The deal includes a pair of opt-outs - one on June 16 and another on July 1 - that Reyes can exercise if he doesn't earn a spot on the major-league roster, according to Andrew Golden of The Washington Post.Reyes began the season with the Kansas City Royals, hitting .186/.231/.288 with two homers over 19 games before getting designated for assignment. The 27-year-old elected free agency instead of accepting an outright assignment to the minors.The journeyman slugger has played for four MLB teams over six seasons, posting 108 homers in 548 games played. Reyes owns a career 108 wRC+ despite struggling over the last two seasons.The Nationals primarily play Joey Meneses in the DH spot, but the slugger is currently on the paternity list.
